Gardening Time

Happy Memorial Day!!  Did you have a good day?  I hope you did!  I've been a bit behind on posting here this week.  I've got several things to post, so be on the lookout for them.  Here's the first one.

I purchased this paper at my LSS and had been dying to try it out.  So, out came Flopsey and his cute wheel barrow.  I colored this image a while back with my copics, so just some quick paper cutting, die cutting, add some ribbon and lace and call me DONE!  I love it when cards come together quickly. :)

Have ya'll been busy making graduation and Father's day cards?  I sure have!  I'll get those posted on here too.   Good night!

More Mojo Monday

I really liked this week's Mojo Monday sketch and I decided to use it for another card as well.  This time I used MFT's Maid for You for the main panel.

The inside of the card reads "I'm a Little Dirty".  It's my favorite saying from this stamp set ;) This card was so easy to make!  I'd already colored the image a while back and all the paper came from my scrap folder.  The ribbon is grey velvet that I picked up at my LSS.  I just love that ribbon!  The skirt's edge is puffed out with liquid applique and colored pink.

I'll be back later on in the week with more cards.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday Cowboy

Hi guys!  I'm back today with a Mojo Monday sketch for this week.

I turned the sketch around and used the center panel as a diamond instead of a square.  Instead of using two papers behind the image, I used twine to make a horizontal band across it.  The star was made by die cutting, embossing, and then sponging on craft cardstock.  I repeated the star and twine on the inside to add some more dimension on the inside of the card.

The cowboy is from Prickley Pear. That's all I've got today.  Byee!

Watercolored Jolinne

This week's MFT WSC challenge is to use watercolors.  During my last trip to El Paso, I took my watercolors for my mom and aunt to try out and they loved them!  I have to admit, although they are nice to use, I rarely ever use them.  It's just easier to whip out the copics and color away.  But for this challenge, I dragged out my twinkling h2o's and pearlescent water colors and colored up Miss You Much Jolinne.

I'd been dying to try Ashley Cannon Newell's scrunched ribbon after seeing her tutorial, but everytime I made a card, I just forgot.  It's so easy to do and doesn't take up as much ribbon as I thought it would.  This technique's a keeper.

I managed to get a pic that showed all the sparklies that the h2o's and pearlescent watercolors added to my image.  I just love how sparkly and bright the colors look in real life.

That's it for today.  See ya later alligator!

Mojo Monday

I got some stampy time in today too!!  Unfortunately, it was at the expense of dinner making time, but luckily hubby stepped in and fixed dinner for us.  Isn't he sweet!!  I really liked this week's Mojo Monday sketch and knew exactly how I wanted the card to look.  Here's how it came out:

Overall, I really like it.  I just wish I'd stuck with the label 1 nestie instead of changing it up.  The other shape looks kinda funny.

That's it for today.  The PPRS blog hop started today and will continue through the end of the week.  Be sure and come back tommorow, for my portion of the hop.  Oh and don't forget to leave comments on the corresponding blogs for a chance to win some goodies!  Nicole has the details for today's prizes on the PPRS blog.

Tootles!

Miss You Much

Hi guys!  My stamping time has been at a premium lately and it's not likely to get better anytime soon.  Life's been busy, busy, busy.  So when inspiration struck last night, I gave in to it and came up with this:

Jolinne was previously colored with prismacolors and OMS and was patiently waiting for me to make her into something.  I wanted to use this image for a luggage tag and it's a big one at that, lol!  I tried to go for an aged, vintagey feel so I focused on browns and muted colors.  I also created a sleeve to slide the tag into.

The sleeve felt a bit bare, and I had an extra flower embellishment I made with the new PPRS dies and stamps, so I put the two together, and voila, a well balanced sleeve. :)  To make the flower, I die cut several flowers using craft cardstock and stamped them with the texted flower stamp.  I inked up the flowers with distress inks, sprayed them with pumpkin shimmer spray, crumpled them up and then flattened them out to dry.  I pierced a hole in each flower, threaded them onto a brad and shaped the layers to my liking.
Don't forget to swing by the PPRS design team members' blogs this week.  Right now there's sneak peeks going on and starting the 18th we'll be hoppin' and giving prizes away!  See you then.

Prickley Pear Release Sneek Peak

Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps is releasing four sets of clear stamps with coordinating die cuts. The four sets, which include a Build a Bird, Butterflies, Hibiscus and a Build an Owl, will be available for purchase on May 18th, the launch day of our hop. Sold separately, these sets coordinate beautifully to create stamped images that can be die cut perfectly around the shape. How cool is that?

It’s so cool, in fact, that they want to give some away. So they’re hosting a Blog Hop, May 18th-21. You’ll have the chance to what you think of the new products and of course, the chance to WIN.

So come back on May 19 to see the stamps and die cut I’ll be featuring. You won’t want to miss it.

Ready to see my sneak peek? Ok, here it is:

I'll show you the rest of the card on the 19th, see you then!

Cased Mother's Day Card

Hi guys, TGIF!!  First things first, make sure you come back here on the 16th and again on the 18th for some sneak peeks and a blog hop for Prickley Pear's upcoming release.  There will be plenty of eye candy along the way and giveaways throughout the week.

A while back I won some blog candy from Joanne Basile and she sent it to me with a beautiful card.  I've known for a while that I'd be casing the card, so I made the card for my aunt for Mother's Day.  Here's my card:
And here's my card next to Joanne's awesome card:
Can you see why I cased it?  It's got everything I love in a card: tons of layers, bright colors, and ribbon.  The image is from My Favorite Things called Tote-ally Fantastic.  I'm ashamed to say I've had it for a while and never inked it up.  But, now that it's nice and inky, I plan on using it more often. :)

That's all I've got for today.  Be sure to stop by this weekend.  Byee!

Playing Catch Up

I took a weekend trip to see my family and spend time with my mom for Mother's Day and I feel like I'm still playing catch up.  I made several cards last week, and I'll be posting them over the next few days.  Some are for Prickley Pear's seek peeks and blog hop!  Be sure and check in often on the PPRS blog and the design team members' blogs starting on May 17th for sneak peeks, plenty of ideas and cards, and of course giveaways!
I've got a card for you today, too.  I made this one for my sister for Mother's Day.  Here it is:
I'm so proud of this card!  My sister loves most things vintage and this pin up girl is perfect for her.  I colored her with copics and added liquid pearls to the flowers on her swimsuit.  Don't you just love that ribbon?!?!  I got it at Anthologies, it's by May Arts.  I only got one yard, but I'm definitely going back for more.  The hat pin is from Maya Road.

That's all I've got for today, but I'll post the card I made for my aunt tomorrow.  It's a direct CASE of a card I recieved from Joanne Basile...

Thanks for stopping by!

PS.  Did you see, I've got 9 followers now!!!  Ack, how exciting!!!  Thanks for following me, I'm so honored.  :)

Sunday Sketch Challenge

Prickley Pear is hosting a sketch challenge on their blog this week.  One random winner will win a half sheet of rubber stamps of their choice!!  Be sure to stop by the PPRS blog for all the details!
Here's my card for this week's challenge:

The stamp is from Prickley Pear's spring collection.  Be sure to check out the other DT's cards, everyone did an amazing job with their cards.  It still amazes me how two people can look at the same sketch and get a totally different take on it.

By the way, be sure and follow along the Prickley Pear blog, there's big news coming in the next few weeks and we are very excited about it!  I'm sure you will be too!!

Thanks for stopping by!
