Prickley Pear Design Team Call

Prickley Pear is holding their semi annual design team call!  You can read all about it here.  If you're interested, please apply.  Trust me, they are AWESOME to work with!  And their stamps sets are AMAZING!!  So head on over there and apply today.
Prickley Pear recently came out with some beautiful seasonal stamps that are available right now.  Ever since this beautiful dandelion stamp arrived in the mail, I've been itching to use it.

I stamped my image on kraft cardstock using versamark ink and embossed the image with clear embossing powder.  Using tea dye distress ink, I stamped a text background over the image and then rubbed away the excess ink from the embossed area. This kept my work from getting smudged and also gave my flowers a subtle halo.  I ripped a piece out of an old book, crumpled it up, aged it and matted it onto chocolate cardstock.  To jazz up my card, I used glittered cardstock for both the background panel and the small horizontal panel.  Some crochet trim finished off my card.

Prickley Pear is gearing up to release some more seasonal stamps in a few days!  Be sure to stop by the PPRS blog for information on how to enter to win a free set.

Rusty Hips

MFT is having their monthly guest designers challenge and this month's theme is sentiments.

The sentiment I used is from Amanda Baird's Dance the Night Away, which happens to be on sale right now! :)  Although fall is still a few weeks away, I'm finding myself drawn to the fall color schemes already.  This one uses tones of chocolate, warm greens, and deep blues.  I opted for ivory for my panels versus white to keep it from being too stark against the warm color palette.

Feel Better Soon

Happy Saturday!  I'm back today with a project to show you featuring Sick Henry from Whiff of Joy.  I just love Henry from the Whiff of Joy line!

I made the box using this template from Splitcoast Stampers.  I modified it to make it into a square box by changing the score points to 2.5", 5", 7.5", and 10".  To decorate it, I cut a strip of pure poppy cardstock and punched both edges with my apron lace punch and centered a strip of BoBunny swiss dot paper in navy.  Henry was colored with copics and cut out using a nestie.  The edge of the flap was also trimmed with a nestie to add a decorative edge.

Be sure to stop by on September 5th, we will be featuring a blog hop for the upcoming release from Prickley Pear.  You won't want to miss out, these stamps are definite must haves!

Scrapooking

I actually made a scrapbook page!!  Everyone who knows me knows that scrapbooking intimidates me, so I usually stick to mini albums or cards.  But, I've had this acrylic page tucked away since last year and I've been wanting to create an album from last year's vacation so I thought I would experiment with one page first.

I apologize for the glare in the picture, I was impossible to take a picture without getting some glare.  This was the best one. :(

I kept the layout simple using nice bright colors and white for accent.  I am actually quite proud of this page, lol!  It took me almost an entire day to create it.  I used stazon ink to stamp some travel images on the back side of the acrylic plate and to ink the edges.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the orange paper, an edge distresser on the the blue and white paper, and added a crystal flourish for some bling.

At the rate I scrapbook, I might have an album together in 20 years!  Thanks for stopping by!

Color Combo Galore Card

A few weeks ago I discovered Color Combos Galore, a color and design challenge site and I finally got a chance to play along with this week's challenge.

The images are various stamps from my collection stamped onto 1" squares with Memento New Sprout ink.  I edged the squares with the same colored ink, intentionally smudging the ink over the edges and then mounted them on blue cardstock edged with Palette Vintage Cream ink.  I embellished some of the images with glitter, rhinestones, and my stardust pen and added a large fluffy bow to complete the card.

Chicken Soup

Howdy!  Today I'm sharing a card that I made using this week's TCP Tuesday challenge.  The Cat's Pajamas has a great sale last week and I couldn't resist picking up a couple of sets to add to my collection.  I've been asked a couple of times to make some get well cards and I don't have any stamps that really fit, so I picked up this set, thinking it's a must!  The images are just so darn cute!

I made the card using a SFYTT sketch from a few weeks back that I meant to use and never got around to.  The background paper is from my Cosmo Cricket paper pad that I picked up a couple of months ago and just haven't gotten around to using.  Note to self: create more stuff with your new toys! The craft panels were embossed with a cuttlebug folder and highlighted by lightly dragging a distress ink pad across the raised portions.  I wanted to keep my image nice and clean, so I just added some subtle shading with my gray copics.  The small button on the corner is mounted on an embossed grungeboard circle and threaded with twine.

Have a great weekend!

Elisbeth Bell Design Team Call

Elisabeth Bell is having a design team call for her digital stamps!  Ever since I saw a card using this Willow stamp sold by Whiff of Joy, I completely fell in love with her designs.  Her images are the perfect combination of whimsy and charm.  So, when a coworker requested a birthday card using none other than THE hot chocolate Willow AND the design team call came out, I got down to work to create this card.

I colored Willow using copics and added "glazing" to her cup with my clear glaze pen.  The flowers on her pants are also glazed over.  Gracie wanted her to be a dark brunette, so I used a super dark grey copic in the darkest areas of the hair to get some good shading in.  Some bling in the form of pearls and crystal swirls and a velvet flower complete the look for this card.
Be sure to stop by Elizabeth Bell's blog to see the new digital images she recently released.  Thanks for stopping by!

PPRS Fall Stamp Sneak Peeks

Prickley Pear is releasing new rubber on Saturday and I've got some speak peeks to show you!  Saturday's release is full of great, versatile fall images.  Ready to see some in action? Lol.
I used some orange designer paper to cover the spine of this mini composition notebook.  Two cream panels cover the front and back of the book.  I stamped the trees in brown ink and added some copper glitter to the trees to jazz them up a bit.  A big fluffy bow and an orange hot air balloon completes the notebook.

I also made a quick mini card.  I always find myself needing small cards to attach to gifts or to send a quick thank you.  This card is just the perfect size.
I colored the pumpkin with prismacolors and OMS, added some pumpkin colored glitter to the design, and sponged with pine needle distress ink around the edges.  I added a craft panel embossed with a cuttlebug folder and sponged with distress ink.

Be sure to stop by the Prickley Pear blog, they *might* have something special going on over there, *wink, wink*.

Mojo Monday

Howdy ya'll!  I'm back today with a card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

This was a really fun card to make.  It has so little stamping, that it came together quite quickly.  The background papers are from a new pad I found at Hobby Lobby.  The pad is full of yummy black, brown and cream papers that are flocked, shimmered, and textured.  Here's the closeups:
What do you think of the closeups I've been including in my posts?  Do you like them?  Are they useful?

Fly Away

Hi guys, I'm back for a fourth consecutive post.  I am on a roll!!  Well, not really, I just had several projects that I'd photographed a while back but still needed to photoshop :)

I made this card using a sketch, but I can't remember which one anymore.  My hot air balloon was die cut and then colored with copics.  I used silver all purpose ink to add some amazing shimmer.  It was my first time using the all purpose ink and I was surprised by the coverage it offers.  This definitely lends itself to many possibilities!

Off to watch my DVR'd episode of The Next Food Network Star!  Ciao!

Sitting Pretty

Hi, I'm back again today with another post.  My Favorite Things is hosting their monthly guest designer challenge at Splitcoast and this month it's all about the flowers.  The challenge immediately made me think of my Sitting Pretty Jolinne stamp just waiting to be inked up for the first time.

This project ended up totally different than the vision I had in my head, but not it a bad way.  I stamped Jolinne onto ivory Neenah paper and colored her with my copics.  I added glaze pen to her eyes and the flower on her hat.  I made 3 layered flower out of aida cloth using my Prickley Pear hibiscus die, colored it with dye inks, crumpled it up, and sprayed it with gold shimmer mist.  I also added a cream panel stamped with MFT's Boho Blossoms in Memento Rich Cocoa.
MFT is hosting their monthly release part tomorrow on Splitcoast.  Hope to see you there!

WSC

Hi!!  I finally had a chance to play along with this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club.  This week it's all about the ruffles.

I thought Flopsey would look perfect with some ruffles and a bit of lace.  But after adding the ruffles and lace, the card still looked a bit empty so I opted for a crystal flourish and shimmer flower in the corner.  I added a bit of color to the flowers by spritzing them with gold shimmer spray and adding a touch of pumpkin color to the edges.

Me & My House

Hello everyone!!  Today's card was a request from a coworker.  She wanted a card to give her sister for her new home.  Since she wanted a particular Bible verse, I created on my computer and printed it out on cream cardstock.
I just love the way the bow turned out nice and fluffy.  Usually my bows are hit or miss, lol.  I found myself liking the card so much, I didn't want to give it away!  Lol, I'll just have to make one for myself.  Thanks for stopping by!

Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop

Welcome to the Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop! Verve turns three today and we’re celebrating with a hop, hop, hop! If you've already been hopping along, you arrived here from Sarah's blog. If not, head on over to Julee's Blog (owner of Verve), for all the info on how to win prizes (after all, what's a party without presents?), and to start hopping from the beginning. If there's a hiccup along the hop, you can always head to the Master Hop List to get the full list of links.

So here's my creation for the blog hop!

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch as a starting point and just went from there.  The top panel was made using my Martha Stewart score board and scoring on the diagonal at 1" intervals.  Then I sponged it with Tea Dye distress ink and added pearls at each inersection.  The Cup of Life image was stamped onto cream cross stitch using Memento Rich Cocoa.  Then I overstamped "Tea" on the right hand side using Fresh Snow ink.  My flower was also made using cross stitch fabric and my Prickley Pear hibiscus die.

Thanks for hopping by! Now it's time to hop on over to Samantha's blog for a little more Verve-y goodness.
