Fly With Me

Today's card was made after I saw THIS card that was featured on Facebook.  I was just blown away by the impact of the blackout image against the sunset sky.  I immediately thought of THIS Prickley Pear stamp and decided to create my own blackout image against a night time sky.

Instead of brayering my background like the original card, I decided to sponge my night sky using various colored inks including: pinks, purples, greys, blues, and a bit of black around the edges.  Using blue ink, the words "fly with me" were stamped repeatedly across the panel.  The fairy was stamped with black ink making sure the stamp had a thick layer of ink on it. 

The image was just begging to be made into an easel card, and who am I to deny it's request, lol.  So into an easel it went and I used my MS star border punch to provide a base for it to stand on inside.  Although the sponging took a bit of time, I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.
